Prinsegate Surveyors "expelled" from TPO

It appears that Prinsegate Chartered Surveyors has faced another setback, this time with The Property Ombudsman (TPO), just over four months after their previous issue with RICS. The TPO upheld five complaints from a consumer who had engaged Prinsegate for a property survey. As a result, the consumer was refunded £890, the cost of the survey.

The investigation by The Property Ombudsman revealed several deficiencies in Prinsegate's survey report. These included a failure to assign condition ratings to individual elements, recommending further investigations without specifying issues, inconsistencies in describing property elements, misadvised costings for a damp-proof course in a listed property, and conflicting cost estimates for the installation of a fire break.

Despite the upheld complaints and subsequent sanctions, Prinsegate Chartered Surveyors may still be operating, as they did not engage with The Property Ombudsman during the investigation process.
